DeKalb-Lee Wind Farm Noise

The DeKalb-Lee industrial wind energy center has caused numerous problems for the local residents who have to live within that footprint. This project is also know as the NextEra Wind Farm, although it is far from being a farm. The fact is that wind turbines are noisy. There are many factors that determine the level of noise that is generated. When it comes to figuring out how noisy the wind turbines really are, who should you ask? Do you want to trust the perspective of someone who made a visit or the people who have been forced to live within the wind farm? The distances were determined using an optical range finder. Note that on some of clips there is a background rumbling noise that is due to wind blowing over the camera microphone. I can assure you that whistling and jet noise is what you would hear if you were sitting with me as the video was taken.
